You will need to purchase an Off-Peak, Standard, or Peak entrance ticket depending on when you wish to attend. Please note all members of your party will require an entry ticket. Additionally, if you spend £20 on any of our attractions, rides or games online and in advance, your entrance ticket will become free when booked in the same transaction!
Tickets will be subject to availability, so we recommend that all visitors purchase their entrance tickets on our official Hyde Park Winter Wonderland website ahead of their visit to avoid disappointment. Please note we are managing our capacity this year to ensure we have flexibility to respond to government guidelines.
We are delighted to be able to safely bring Hyde Park Winter Wonderland back to London for some much-needed festive fun after a year off that was tough for so many people. In order to do this, we are managing our capacity and have a robust entry system in place. If you would like to visit any of our attractions or pre-bookable rides, we advise purchasing in advance on our website, to avoid any disappointment.

Why not come and ask him yourself! And don’t forget to say “hello” to all his magical elves too. After the year we have had, we all deserve a little bit of Christmas magic!
Nothing! Father Christmas and his elves welcome children to his grotto every day from 10am – 6pm with the exception of Christmas Day when he is pretty busy delivering presents! He returns on Boxing Day right through to 3rd of January from 10am – 6pm ready to receive your thank you letters! Please note, to visit Father Christmas you will need an entry ticket to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland for your chosen day. He meets children of all ages on a first-come, first-served basis, giving children a small gift as long as they’ve been good! Visitors are welcome to take their own photographs, but an official photographer will be on hand to take special souvenir shots available for purchase on site.
Please note that at peak times, lots of children come to see Father Christmas, so make sure you arrive early to avoid any disappointment on the day. We may need to close the queue early some days to ensure Father Christmas gets to see everybody before he has to go and feed his reindeer. Please note that the Santa’s Grotto queue is outside so please wrap up warm!
There are no age restrictions for Bar Ice, however we do advise that under 18s need to be accompanied by an adult and will require a ticket.
Whilst children are welcome into Bar Ice (with a ticket), we do feel it is more of an adult environment. Young children may prefer the Magical Ice Kingdom, our ice sculpture walk-through attraction.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is for everyone. There are rides and attractions for children as young as 2, with more thrilling rides for the older ones – and both young and old love to see Father Christmas.
Most of Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is flat and level for buggies with only gentle inclines. There are baby changing facilities at the various toilets situated around Winter Wonderland.

Yes, our event and charity partner is The Royal Parks. Money raised from Hyde Park Winter Wonderland goes back into maintaining Hyde Park and the other eight Royal parks across London.
Throughout the live events industry, the environmental impact of our work is becoming a hot topic. From the way we generate power to what we do with our waste it is clear that we have a responsibility to minimise our impact on the planet.
At Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, we take this responsibility very seriously and are continuously working with our partners and suppliers to explore and innovate ways of lessening the ecological footprint of the event, both globally and locally. The work we are doing in this area ranges from consulting with ecology consultants to ensure we aren’t disturbing the local bat population through to employing cutting edge power monitoring and battery technology.
Traders and operators are encouraged to produce products from sustainable sources where possible and the vast majority of the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland infrastructure is permanent or reused year after year.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland uses local staff and crew where possible and encourage traders and operators to do the same.
PWR Events are proud to be actively producing sustainable events and are certified to ISO 20121, the International Standard for sustainability in event management.
We have introduced Green D+ Bio Diesel across all of our Generators and Plant. This means that 100% of all fuel used at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland no longer comes from Crude Oil, but instead comes from Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil.
These oils are derived from food industry waste, fish processing waste and used cooking oil. It is calculated that for every 350 litres of Green D+ burned; Carbon output is reduced by 1000kg, Particulate matter is reduced by 77% and Nitrogen Oxides are reduced by 29%.
We see this as a major undertaking for an event of our size and status and hope that other events follow our lead.
Initial research suggests that inefficient generator use is common at events in the UK and that power use can represent up to 70% of carbon footprint.
Knowing this, we have installed power monitoring on all our generator farms throughout the park which in turn allows us to continuously monitor our generators and generator clusters to ensure that no generator is running unnecessarily or inefficiently. We also use power monitoring on specific areas and rides throughout the event.
We are also able to use the data from power monitoring to explore innovative solutions to our power use. This year in partnership with Power Logistics, we are experimenting with innovative battery technology to power certain attractions and help reduce our dependence on diesel-powered generators.
We are working closely with our waste partners to explore how we deal with the amount of waste generated by the event and have set ourselves some ambitious and stringent targets for recycling. Hyde Park Winter Wonderland will provide suitable facilities for visitors, traders, and operators to recycle their waste.
During the event, all our general waste is used for energy recovery. Also, all our waste oil from the catering stalls is picked up and recycled into biofuel, and any pallets or reusable timber is donated to upcycling projects. We continue to look at our procurement as part of the hierarchy of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. As part of this, we have banned Polystyrene and other single use plastics (i.e. straws, cutlery, sauce sachets etc.) as well as banning the sale of helium filled foil balloons. The reusable cup and mug scheme at the Bavarian Village has a huge impact on reducing our waste. Moreover, by introducing more bottle refill points and encouraging staff to have their own reusable bottle, we hope to further reduce the number of plastic bottles used on site for both guests and staff.
We monitor our light pollution impact on the local ecology of the park by conducting several lighting audits to ensure that the lighting is not impacting on the local nocturnal wildlife – like bats for example. All site wide lighting and the vast majority of ride lighting uses low energy LED bulbs.
Noise monitoring stations are installed within the event and at several locations outside the event with any excessive noise sources being rectified from our central control.
Travel and Transport
Travel to the event is considered one of the largest contributors to event’s carbon footprint and environmental impact, which is beyond the direct control of event organiser, therefore, we strongly advise our customers to travel to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland on foot, bike or by public transport when possible.
Our deliveries are tracked, and we are currently using this data to produce a combined delivery plan to reduce transportation.
Ground & Tree Protection
Working closely alongside our partners at The Royal Parks, we ensure that Hyde Park itself is fully protected from the impact of the event. This includes covering the entire footprint with durable flooring to protect the turf sub-structure and hoarding off ‘Protected Areas’ that contain a large number of trees.
We also locate all tented or heavy structures far away from any tree roots, do not hang anything from the trees themselves and ensure that no uplighters into the trees are used.
