Travel Advice ​
The best way to get to Winter Wonderland is via public transport. There are many nearby Tube and national rail stations. The nearest stations are: Victoria, Bond Street, Green Park, Paddington, Knightsbridge, Marble Arch, Hyde Park Corner. When travelling to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, customers are advised to plan ahead, try and travel at quieter times and check before you travel. ​

Please consider our neighbours when leaving through the residential streets of Bayswater, Mayfair and Knightsbridge. Keep noise to a minimum and place any litter in the bins provided before leaving Winter Wonderland.

The best way to get to Winter Wonderland is via public transport. Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge and Marble Arch stations are the closest stations but are expected to be busy and can sometimes be closed. ​

For a quieter journey, travel to and from Victoria, Bond Street and Paddington, which are all within a 20-minute walk of Hyde Park.

If you require step-free access or are travelling with a buggy, it is advised to use Green Park or Bond Street stations to make use of the lift facilities. ​

Santander Cycle Hire and Bus services are also available to help complete your journey.

All London buses are accessible and there are stops adjacent to the event.

Hyde Park has a ‘Quiet’ section of the London Cycleway running along Broad Walk. A public bicycle rack is provided by the Serpentine Bar & Kitchen café.

There are also three ‘Pay to Use’ cycle hire stations in Hyde Park.

Santander Cycle Hire docking stations are located at Hyde Park Corner, Albert Gate/Carriage Drive, Wellington Arch, Knightsbridge, Triangle and Serpentine Car Parks (in Hyde Park), Speakers Corner and Park Lane (Brook Gate) amongst others. We recommend that visitors avoid coming by car where possible. However, for those who do travel by car we recommend Q-Park which is a large and secure car park, fitted with extensive CCTV systems. It has entrances at Park Lane and Marble Arch – ideal for visitors to Winter Wonderland.

Black Taxis

There are lots of Black Cab taxi ranks around Hyde Park that are easily accessible from any gate. Please do not try and hail a cab on a busy road where the driver may have difficulty safety stopping.

The nearest taxi rank will be on Park Lane, opposite Brook House, but is expected to be busy at times. Where possible please use alternative nearby taxi ranks located on Hamilton Place, Piccadilly, Dover Street, Berkeley Street, Oxford Street, Orchard Street and Portman Square.

A licensed black taxi with its orange light on can be hailed off the street or from one of more than 600 ranks across the Capital. They can also be booked by phone or app. Every taxi has a card machine so, if you don’t have cash, you will be able to pay using credit, debit or mobile payment.

Private Hire Cars

If you are using a private hire company, please be considerate when arranging a convenient location for the driver to pick you up, avoiding busy roads or small residential streets where possible.

Minicabs

Minicabs cannot be hailed off the street. They must be booked with a licensed minicab company over the phone, online, using an app or at a minicab office. You must receive a booking confirmation which will include the driver’s name, TfL licence number, vehicle registration and where possible a photo of the driver. A record will be kept of your journey, your driver and the vehicle they used. The driver can be traced in case of any problems. 

Coaches bringing people to Winter Wonderland have the following facilities available on Park Lane:

Set down and pick up only locations:

Coaches should only use Park Lane southbound for setting down and picking up passenger:

  • 20-minute coach bay located just north of North Row – One space
  • Bus stand Z2, just north of Woods Mews – this is only for the duration of Winter Wonderland 2021 ­– One space
  • Coach set down and pick up point just south of Upper Brook Street – One space
  • Coach set down and pick up point next to the Dorchester Hotel – Three spaces, available 20:00 to 07:00 and 10:00 to 16:00 daily

Parking is available at the following locations:

  • Park Lane southbound: south Upper Grosvenor Street – Two spaces, maximum stay one hour
  • Park Lane southbound: ahead of bus stop B at the Hilton Hotel – One space, maximum stay one hour
  • Park Lane northbound: to the rear of Apsley House – Two spaces, maximum stay one hour
  • Park Lane northbound: alongside car park retaining wall – four spaces, maximum stay two hours, no boarding or alighting

Luggage

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland does not provide a left luggage facility.  The closest left luggage facility is at Victoria Station.

We strongly advise not bringing large bags or luggage to event as we may not be able to accommodate these. We advise only bringing a handbag or small rucksack.

We ask all guests to be vigilant and not to leave bags and belongings unattended at any time. Any unattended item may be disposed of in line with our security protocols.

TfL Safer Travel

TfL enforcement officers and the police are working to improve the safety of travelling by taxi & minicab.

If you experience any behaviour of a sexual nature from a minicab or taxi driver, including comments of a sexual nature, please report it online at www.met.police.uk. If it’s an emergency, call 999. 

You can report any behaviour that makes you feel uncomfortable, even if you think it’s not necessarily a crime. Call TfL on 0343 222 4000 (Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00) or contact them online.

On arrival

Our top tips for safety and security

100% bag searches are in place at all the event gates. Bags must be A4 sized or below, please be prepared to open them and show the contents for inspection. Suitcases, scooters and bikes are not permitted. If you’re lucky, you may see our friendly search dogs!

Please ensure your tickets are download to your phone or ready to display in the official Winter Wonderland app ahead of your arrival. Security and stewards are in position along all routes of the event, please ask them for assistance if needed. They are there to help!

In case of separation, arrange a meeting point with your group once you have arrived. If you have any welfare or medical concerns, head to one of our info points, box office or ask a member of security. If something doesn’t look right, report it to a member of staff immediately.

We have a zero tolerance policy for illegal items such as drugs and weapons. We do not permit the use of drones. You aren’t permitted to enter with glass, please keep this in mind with regards to shopping or gifts prior to attending. To see our full list of prohibited items, check out our FAQs.
